Carl Voskamp LP, MBA - Carl Voskamp began his emergency medical services career as an ambulance attendant in 1975. He had completed the entire 8-hour Red Cross first aid course and, as a rookie, was placed in back of their station-wagon ambulance. His job was to "get the patient to the hospital".
Carl earned his EMT certification in 1976 and paramedic in 1978. After that, his responsibility changed to, "get the hospital to the patient".
After 18 years of street experience, Carl got into EMS education. With over 30+ years in education, he has been involved with seven different community college and university-based EMS programs, including 20 years as EMS Program Director at Victoria College. After that, he spent two years at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio training US Army DUSTOFF helicopter medics and two years as the EMS Training Director at Texas A&M's Emergency Services Training Institute.
Carl is the Adanced EMT Program Coordinator for Health Shield Educational Services. He is also a peer site visitor and reviewer for CoAEMSP and CAPCE. CoAEMSP is the national organization that accredits paramedic training programs and CAPCE accredits EMS continuing education.
Ceara Hance - Ceara Hance, EMT, began her career as a First Responder in 2016 when she became a volunteer firefighter. In 2018, she then decided to pursue a career in EMS, becoming an EMT. Additionally, in 2022, Ceara held the distinction of becoming the first female Assistant Fire Chief in DeWitt County.
Ceara currently serves as Assistant Fire Chief at a volunteer fire department, and works as an EMT. She has a strong desire to serve her community in many capacities including demonstrating her passion for educating in EMS and Fire Fighting. She has taught EMT classes as well as ECA classes. Her goal is to not only educate future EMTs and Fire Fighters but to deliver vital education to the public by teaching safety and community awareness classes and hosting civic events.
