Fire Fighting Program
Health Shield Educational Services wants to assist you in obtaining your goal of becoming eligible to work in the exciting field of career firefighting. If your work schedule, family life, or other issues prevent you from attending a "face to face" classroom course, perhaps the online Fire Fighting Program format of training may be a better option for you. In this type of training the student enrolls in the course and has twenty weeks to work through the self-paced online presentations, practice tests, assessment tests, and associated course work from your home. Our instructors are very skillful and knowledgeable and are available to assist you with the information within the online course.
Throughout the online course the students must attend fifteen skills session days which begin at 0800 until they are completed for that day. The skills days are scheduled to be conducted at the Bastrop County ESD #1 fire training grounds located at 1965 FM 20 in Red Rock, TX. These skills days are MANDATORY. There are three days of "live" fire training where our skillful and knowledgeable instructors will assist you to practice and master skills needed to for skills testing at the end of the course. On the final day of the session, the Texas Commission on Fire Protection State Skills Examination will be administered at the Bastrop County ESD #1. After completion of that testing the fire fighter cadet would then be eligible to test the state examination with the Texas Commission on Fire Protection.
