What certification is included in the ECA or EMT Course?
After successful completion of the course, the student will receive a course completion certificate. This certificate verifies the student has met all the competencies to test with the National Registry of EMT's. After passing the National Registry of EMT's examination the student would then apply with the Texas Department of State and Health Services to gain their EMT certification. 

Are your ECA and EMT courses available online?
Currently they are not. However, we are planning to offer these courses online in the near future.

How do I register for a course?
There is an application process. Click here for the packet for the ECA Program, EMT Program, or Fire Fighting Program. You may also contact the Admissions Coordinator.

What does the program enrollment packet contain?
The packet contains course information, admission requirements, and a list of immunizations.

How much does the EMT course cost?
The cost of the course is $1,995.

Ways to Pay:

  • Full payment due before the first night of class.

  • Payment Plan - $500 down before the first night of class with the tuition balance to be paid in monthly payments as outlined in Promissory Note/Payment Plan.

What does the tuition cover?

  • The class

  • One clinical uniform shirt

  • ID Badge

  • Clinical handbook, homework assignments

  • PowerPoints

  • National Registry Skills Testing

What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept cash, personal check or sponsoring agency check, money order.

We offer payment plans to fit your budget.

Can I get a refund after the course begins?
There are no refunds to monies paid.

Does Health Shield Educational Services offer any financial aid?
We offer payment plans to fit your budget, however, at this time we do not offer financial aid. A deposit of $500 is required before the first night of class.

What are the admission requirements for enrolling in an EMS Course?

The ECA/EMT student must:

  • be a minimum of 17 years of age at the time of enrollment.

  • have a high school diploma or GED.

  • submit a criminal background check.

The EMT student must:

  • submit a negative 10 panel drug screen.
